We invite you to explore the many programs that demonstrate Pfizer's leadership
in public health innovation.
What is Public Health?
Public Health is what we as a society do collectively to assure the conditions
for people to be healthy.*
In order to effectively address present and future challenges to people's
health, public health practice requires an organized and sustained
population-based approach.
Why Public Health at Pfizer?
In an era when medicine has the unprecedented capacity to understand, cure and
even prevent disease, not everyone is benefiting from accelerated medical and
scientific breakthroughs. We at Pfizer recognized a compelling need for public
and private organizations to transcend usual boundaries and work
collaboratively to discover and implement comprehensive, coordinated and
compassionate solutions to public health problems. Transforming knowledge and
resources into actions that improve people's health and lives has always been a
key Pfizer priority. Our Public Health & Policy Group is one way we are
responding to this challenge.
Through collaborations with public health thought leaders in academia,
government, business and the non-profit sector, we are helping to meet the
health needs of our nation's communities by building and stewarding
comprehensive solutions to complex public health problems. To assure that
medical innovations ultimately improve healthcare for all, our Public Health
& Policy Group creates and manages pioneering public-private partnership
programs and advances cutting-edge public health research.
We hope that this web site will familiarize you with our work across a spectrum
of academic, clinical and community settings and encourage you to become an
active partner in our multidisciplinary initiatives and programs.
